Neuro-musculature neurologist in Northwest AR?
I am moving from the Dallas-Fort Worth area to Northwest Arkansas (Fayetteville area) and have CIDP. My current neurologist said to look for someone familiar with neuro-musculature issues, but neither he nor I could find any in the area. I'd appreciate any suggestions. I prefer not to have to drive to Little Rock but will need someone familiar with my CIDP. I did find two infusion centers for my IVIG in the area.

@ reubenwithcidp Here are the links to 2 organizations that should be able to help you with doctors who may be specialists: GARD https://rarediseases.info.nih.gov/
NORD https://rarediseases.org
You can ask for a neuromuscular physician who is reasonably close to you. Most of them are at comprehensive medical centers or university hospitals. You may need to drive for the 1st visit and then see if it can be virtual.
Best of luck to you!

1 ReactionThanks. I have reached out to GARD. NORD did not seem to have a lot of resources for CIDP. Given the similarity to GBS I may need to search for someone who is well versed in those treatments.

1 ReactionI live in Fayetteville, AR and sadly, we have a concerning lack of specialists in Northwest Arkansas. It might be helpful to look for a neuro in the Tulsa or KC area, also. Tulsa is closer than Little Rock, and KC is only about a 3 hour drive. BTW...I'm also from the Dallas area originally (Greenville). Welcome to Fayetteville!

1 Reaction@reubenwithcidp You might also try university hospitals and major medical centers. Just call and ask for the rheumatology department. Good luck!
