Narcotic bowel syndrome

Posted by esikora @esikora, Feb 2, 2023

My daughter has been on Suboxone for three years, and is now suffering extreme GI symptoms. After all the usual testing, scoping and imaging, the diagnosis of exclusion is narcotic bowel syndrome. She is tapering the Suboxone in hopes of getting some relief. Has anyone experienced anything like this? Thank you,

I know that people tapering benzodiazepines can often be plagued with bowel disturbances. They call it Benzo belly.

This is a link that might help people with bowel issues from drug withdrawal. It is a podcast and when I was going through Benzo Belly, it helped me to know that it wasn't just my imagination, when I was suffering from it.https://www.benzofree.org/podcast/benzo-belly-our-gut-in-withdrawal-bfp011/
