Myocardial bridge, microvascular dysfunction & vascospasms

Posted by tzcrystal @tzcrystal, 2 days ago

Hello looking to connect with anyone that may have these. I am very intolerant to medications like beta blockers, nitrates and calcium channel and really looking for some natural ways or things that have not been tried. Unable to go through with the unroofing surgery

Hi @tzcrystal. I am glad you found Mayo Clinic Connect. It has to be disheartening not to be able to depend on traditional treatments for your heart conditions. You have a found a good place to find support from others, and I am hopeful you will be encouraged.

Here are a couple places to check out as you wait for others to comment. I found another MC Connect discussion, if you haven’t seen it already where others are discussing treatment. Also, I learned about the ISHA when I was researching spasms and found them to be super helpful.
- Myocardial bridge treatment at Mayo Clinic: https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/myocardial-bridging/
- International Heart Spasm Alliance is a good resource to learn about unseen heart conditions like coronary vasospasm: https://www.internationalheartspasmsalliance.org/

If you are comfortable it may help if you share more about your conditions, diagnosis and symptoms so others know more how to comment.

You mention being intolerant to the typical drugs that treat your conditions. Has your doctor recommended alternatives, or things that could be done to help you tolerate them enough to get relief?

Do you have allergies.
It is very stressful dealing with meds that your body can’t tolerate, And expensive
I have an egg allergy and a milk allergy. They are in everything and it is not labeled.
I was told to take Claritin for some itching. It is now over the counter. In the back of my mind, I knew I couldn’t take it and I didn’t know why.. After talking To two different pharmacies I found out why. By the box, everything is good no milk or eggs, but when I called the manufacturer, I found out more. The main drug is fine, but when they make the pill, they add milk to it as a binding agent.
The young person I spoke to spoke to a pharmacist and came back on the phone and told me liquid only. I am able to take liquid Claritin, but not the pill. Get checked for milk and egg allergies if you haven’t
