Myectomy recovery.

My husband is recovery from a triple by pass and myectomy done at the end of December. He has good days and other days that he cannot stay awake. He also coughs when he tries to lie down and then cannot stop. His feet/ankles are a little swollen which they say to lie down and elevate your feet above your heart. Any suggestions?
