Mycobacterium xenopi

One cavitary lung nodule was found incidentally in jan 2024 after an xray for a bad respiratory infection. Further CT scans and biopsies finally identified it as M. Xenopi. I have been taking the big 3 daily since dec 2024. The ID dr is saying that i should continue on daily meds for at least 12 months and it should clear. I have no symptoms and feel fine on the meds so the treatment plan is fine with me. When i rrad about xenopi the literature suggests that it is easier to treat than MAC but has higher mortality. Anyone have experience with particular NTM? My dr also has never treated anyone with xenopi. Thinking about reaching out to johns hopkins. Any suggestions?

Xenopi is the strain I was identified as having following a bronchoscopy. They are treating it with the big 3 same as MAC. Agree there seems to be a lot less information on it so thank you for sharing this link.
