My wife diagnosed with Resilent Remitting MS: looking for support

Posted by ortho622 @ortho622, Sep 27 7:34am

My wife recently diagnosed with Resilent Remitting MS and I. I ask for support group and the Mayo Clinic does not apparently provide any for this condition.
As a husband working and trying to learn how to help better with my wife condition, I found ironically that no support group information is found for this MS type of diagnosis in a 61 year old woman.
Thank you

I’ve had questions answered in this forum regarding MS. Perhaps try the MS Society. They have lots of info. Also check the Norton Healthcare Neurology Institute in Louisville KY. Best wishes.

I have relapsing/remitting MS. Originally dx when I was 22. I'm now 62. How is she doing, when was she diagnosed? I had symptoms of numbness, weakness, gait and speech difficulties. I'm currently on every 6 month Ocrevus infusions after being on Tecfidera for 7 years and have had no flares in several years. This all came about when I began with symptoms again 8 years ago, out of the blue. Is she taking medication yet? It's a scary dx. When I was first diagnosed at 22, no meds existed for MS. Now there are many effective choices to control progression. I wish you both the best. Please feel free to ask any questions you have and I'll try to help.

Also I checked and there is an MS group here, look under All Support Groups.

@ortho622, I bet you have a lot of questions. Please ask away. You mention that this is a recent diagnosis for your wife. What symptoms led to the diagnosis?

I was dx’d RRMS back in ‘99. I have been taking a supplement along with Ocrevus now for the past 6 years. The supplement is a multi-level network type of scheme, but the supplement does wonders for me! It’s name is Ambrotose, and the co that makes it has several others as well…

Just Ambrotose daily for me mixed in with Metamucil; and all good, so far!
