My Very First Ablation

Posted by minos @minos, Apr 8 9:58am

I had an ablation last week, and it went very well. I was discharged with a couple of new medications. Fatigue kicked in fast that day, but on the second day, I was able to drive and walk. I feel pretty good! Thank you all for recommending this procedure. I see the EP next week and discuss further with him.

AWESOMEEEE!!! I'm so glad to see another convert who has the ability to relate his/her experience, to coach others with some tips or anecdotal information, and to be able to claim that the procedure has restored their normal heart's function and rhythm. It didn't work for me the first time, but while zapping around the third artery on the second ablation, my heart suddenly reverted to NSR. They immediately knew they had just closed the tiny gap they had missed the first time. I celebrated a year free of PACs and AF on the 14th of February.

gloaming,
What great information to posts. I had ablation in righ ventricle and stopped PVC there. But have had them in LV all the time and have gotten worse.

I asked my EP about ablation for them as I wanted to "fix it" but they put me on mexilitine (spell) which has done nothing. I was having PVCs 1 in 10 beats and not is 1 in 3 beats. Really annoying and scary feeling "is it going to get worse." My EP says the PVCs in LV are coming from 3 different areas. Will have home monitoro of my ICD/Pacemaker this month so will get feeback on PVCs and need to change medications or have ablation.

Again, what great news this procedure did for you!!
