My neurologist has prescribed Nurtec for visual symptom.
Anybody have experience with using Nurtec for scintillating scotoma (migraine aura)? have never had a migraine headache, but have worsening visual symptoms probably related to MS. Vision is dim, some brief doubling, plus the geometric patterns that I would call hallucinations, but science calls “scintillating scotoma”.
After Nurtec, amazing bright, crystal clear 20/20 vision, where I can read without glasses happens very soon and wavers in and out for a while. Seems to have days of positive, unsteady effects on vision. Very odd drug.

@tatiana987 that’s okay - I need all the help I can get, since I only have sight in one eye! lol! Glad to hear vision improvement was a bonus for you and hopefully it will be for me, too. I do get ocular migraines but not as often as you do, and they don’t last long,
I will ask my optometrist about Nurtec as well as AREDS2 which really for prevention of macular degeneration but I am hoping either of these will clear the large floaters I seem to have developed over the years after cataract surgery as well as “haze in, haze out” I am experiencing.

1 ReactionI have ocular migraines, i will have 3 days in a row, then maybe none for a month or two. The last one was one of the worse , my left eye, it was scary. I never thought to ask for Nurtec.

1 ReactionI have been taking AREDS 2 for about 6 years. My understanding is that it is a vitamin supplement. I have had no problem with it.

1 ReactionWent to my Neurologist today because I recently had a TIA and my vision has been like a fuzzy old tv picture in the upper part of my vision like on a clock 10-2 and its all the time and has been like this for 3 weeks now. I was given NurtecODT because they are saying it’s not stroke related, but at this point I am really willing to try anything to help. It’s a horrible feeling everyday that makes me feel so off and not knowing why is also scary. I am following this thread and being today is the first day trying it I will update on any changes I have taking this and I really hope I have some success

1 ReactionPlease visit an ophthalmologist to rule out an eye condition. Having fuzzy vision is truly dreadful and affects many aspects of daily living. Best wishes….

2 Reactions@janeinnc I went to the eye clinic in Arizona. I suggest you ask your primary doctor
@hjonker123
Did your eye doctor not recommend Nurtec, or suggested that primary doctor would be the right one to prescribe it?
@altabiznet thank you but tried that and it didn’t work. I’m on Qulipta as a preventative
