My breathing
I’m getting tired because my breathing is difficult and my friends don’t seem to understand as I look young for my age and I don’t show how I feel ,

I totally get it. My family doesn’t get it and keep trying to push me beyond what I can do and it really hurts me.
My family does not realize that my copd is getting worse. And I smoke and have smoked for years. I know, stupid? Right now I am dealing with my husband who has late stage iv lung cancer and advanced copd himself. The stress level is pretty high right now. I sure hope I can get myself on the right track to quit. Before it is too late for me. And then will come the accusations from the family. Well if you hadn't smoked you would not be in this situation. I can't deal with that right now. Yes, family can dish out the most hurt although they may not realize what their words do to us. Hang in there.
Hypnotherapy helps with quitting.
Thanks for your response. I have tried hypnosis, acupuncture, etc. I have had the most luck with patches. But right now, my biggest concern is my husband. Every day it seems as if I am just watching him waste away into nothing but skin and bones. It is so hard to watch. We have a doctors appt on thursday and I am hoping there is someting that can be done for him. He weighs less than 90 pounds and is not eating because he just throws it back up. Now is not a good time for me to concentrate on quitting. Sure, that sounds like an excuse and it is, but I just can't do it right now.
You be might want to try Allan carrs book “ The Easy Way” it helped me and quite a few people I know. There is no good time or easy way but it may help.
Try Chantix. It really does work - tells the receptors in your brain that you already have nicotine in your system, so your impetus for reaching for that smoke diminishes. Doesn't happen overnight, and you don't go cold turkey on day 1, but, from experience, it DOES work. I've heard that you can no longer get a scrip for Chantix, but I'll bet you can! Worked for me when nothing else did.
Thanks, I will think about it.
Try Nicorette gum! Your system is still getting the nicorette but not via your lungs where all the damage is being done. They Make them in two strengths - 4 mg and 2 mg. I tend to agree with you about the timing because of your husband's condition.......but might be a try. I was a hard-core smoker and it worked great for me.
