Music Helps Me

Posted by Parus @parus, Oct 13, 2017

At times music can be helpful. I like the group Anthem Lights…A new discovery for me when I was perusing youtube. A Capella has always been my thing. I love to sing!!!!!

@zeiracorp

Some more covers of another song I like. I really enjoy seeing what different artists do with the same songs. This song, Uptown Funk is, musically, a really good piece of music, and not easy to perform at all. The Lyrics have some humor too. "gotta kiss myself, I'm so pretty." That's priceless. Some of these links embed the video, and some you'll have to click.

Uptown Funk by Lezz Go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IJFln1zrNU Entertaining studio performance, musically, wardrobe, makeup, everything.

I guess they are Serbian. (Belgrade). Check out their other videos. Their harmony is really good, and the whole band is good.

I don't think anybody has done this song better than these guys though:

One viewer posted, "Only Bruno Mars can rock those curlers." I was thinkin' the same thing, lol.

@zeiracorp @johnbishop What a fun way to start my day! Thanks for the smiles! The best version of "Uptown Funk" I have watched is the one done in American Sign Language. I love the song and the beat.

Thanks Ginger! @gingerw – Just did a search and found this one in sign language but probably not the one you were referring to. My mother grew up in an orphanage and learned sign language. She tried to teach me but I wasn't a good learner at the time 🙁

@johnbishop This is the video that made me cry when I saw it, for the emotion it triggered

Read the entire message for the video, and you'll see why it made me really like it!
I have studied sign language, as my fourth language. When we got married, I signed Josh Groban's song "You Raise Me up", to my husband on the beach, while the song played in the background. Back in 2013, just after my dad passed, when I was presenting an American flag to a club he belonged to, I signed and simultaneously spoke my message. As he went deaf, I taught him some sign language, in order for him to feel "part of" a conversation. It is a beautiful language, and has many versions/accents, just like English!
