Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer

Posted by rose1966 @rose1966, Jan 31 5:20pm

My husband Dwight, is 63 yrs old and just was told that he has Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer. I think Stage 2 or 3 from Pathology Report.
The Urologist called and told us the steps:
1.Medical Oncology…The oncologist will call us to start Chemo.
2.Chemotherapy
3.Radical Cystectomy
4.Dr.Harold Tara from Yale …He is an oncologist who Dwight will be treated by.
The Urologist said it was not metastatic, thank the Lord.
We know this is a fast moving cancer and I am praying 🙏 morning , noon and night.
Has anyone been through all this?

My prayers are with your family. My dad who is 83 is going through something similar he has muscle invasive bladder cancer stage two or three at this point. thank God it didn’t spread. He was supposed to go for a chemo and then bladder removal. He found out he cannot do chemo because of his age and kidney functions. He is scheduled next week to get his bladder removed fingers crossed everything goes well.

@saaron79 Your dad is in my prayers for total and complete healing. Thank you so much for praying for my family. The big thing is it never spread outside the muscle wall and because of that, the cancer will be destroyed with the bladder removal. Always Praying 🙏
