Muscle atrophy and spinal nerve damage
So here is a little bit of my story. I live in a small town in Alaska and my most recent vertebrae adventure happens to do with apparently my neck. Approximately 5 years ago I started to loose strength in my right arm for no reason no car accident no falls nothing just randomly was loosing strength rapidly about two years into this I had a decompression surgery three months after that I was in PT and after 8 months I got the complete use of my arm back. I was thrilled yah not so fast exactly one month later I woke up with a complete loss of my right arm and muscle atrophy on my right shoulder and shoulder blade. How does one just wake up and this happen? Oh it gets better. My right arm is completely dead can’t even feed my self any longer: now my left arm starters to loose strength and I’m scared to death I was nearly 42 years old what is going on: i seen internal medicine I went to two neurologist seen a world known spine dr: and I’m not even 45 and loosing the use of my arms. No one had a clue no one still hasn’t a clue. Yet every day I’m looking for answers before my quality of life has absolutely no chance to return. I did get a referral to go to the university of Washington and I went scheduled even test yet there was a major set back and that was I couldn’t get any dr in AK to set up my medical travel brings I’m on state medical assistance so no tests ever got done in Washington. I have a few leads that I’m looking into on this situation but nothing confirmed yet. So on a side note bone wise this is my list of weird stuff and the appropriate years that it was done:. All of which had been done before I’m even 45.maybe someone will read this and it will strike up something that just makes complete sense to them that I’m just not seeing. I appreciate any and all comments or suggestions. Don’t be afraid to say it. I’m not afraid to do it. Thank you and best of luck to everyone on here..
L4-S1 with an ALIF into L-5 and 2014
L4-L3. 2018
Complete left knee replacement 2020
C5-C7 decompression from the front 2022
C5-C7 decompression from back 2023
C5-C7 fusion from the back 2024
My years are approximate. You should also know with my aL4-S1 surgery that all indications pointed to me just needing a decompression but when I woke up I had a three disc fusion on my left side and had to go back in two more times just to fix that issue. After I had did the damage while I was 9 months pregnant with my son I delivered him instantly got pregnant with my daughter carted her full term delivered and then when she was about 5 months old I had my first back surgery. How can an MRI the best imaging you can get show my lower back needs a decompression but really my L4 got shoved down to my S1. I pray someone had some kind of anything for me, yet honestly I really hope no one out there is going threw what Iam.
