Mucinex

Posted by healthybon @healthybon, Jun 8, 2023

I have been taking 12 hour Mucinex twice a day. I read on label not to take ongoing……any opinions?

Coughing is a big problem. I have medications for afib so there are a lot of meds for cough that I am unable to take.
Does anyone have something that would help a cough?
I have taken mucinex but doesn’t stop cough..

Coughing is often caused in our population by incomplete clearance. My routine is 2x day nebulizer levalbuterol and 7% saline followed by airway clearance. Right before bed I also do 5-10 minutes of autogenic drainage. This helps me sleep through the night without coughing. Also, exercise during the day is helpful for the lungs.

Dorothy,

I'm sorry you are having issues with coughing which is common with lung issues. The only thing I can tolerate is honey. I take approximately 1/2 Tab. of locally grown honey, which greatly helps me. Any OTC or prescribed cough medicines upset my stomach. It might be worth a try and, I personally, love honey.

Take care and good luck.

Cathie
