MRI Brain Scan-40 year old Female

Posted by elishara23 @elishara23, Jul 27, 2023

I have been having memory loss, balance has been off, moderate pain in my right eye socket with blurred vision and pain in the right side of head, vertigo, and right hand tremors for several months now, I had a mri on my brain, it showed "a few scattered foci of FLAIR hyperintensity in the periventricular and subcortical white matter of the bilateral frontal lobes. My dr. says there is nothing wrong with me, i just cant accept this answer, there is obviously something going on, has anyone had anything like this? Im not sure what to do now, it is really upsetting that noone will believe me.

Saying it’s not MS is saying you don’t at this point meet the criteria for MS. The doctor should monitor you over time. If you can share your location or at least the state I will see if there might be a doctor in the area who would do that.

Thank you for commenting! I am in Oklahoma, close to Kansas, so the closest major specialists are all in Wichita or OKC, ive been seen at OU neurology, I live about 3 hours from both major cities

I hope for your health they find the source of your issues. Make surgery your last resort and I wonder if a physical therapist might be of help to you? The hazards of your job don’t help either. Having to lift patients onto stretchers and just the demands of that profession may be a contributing factor. Keep your fingers crossed and good luck.

This website will show you the best MS specialists in OKC. They will be listed as a Partner in Care at the OMRF MS Center of Excellence. If you didn't see one of these maybe it is worth a 3rd opinion. https://www.nationalmssociety.org/resources/get-support/find-doctors-and-resources. Also, with eye pain and blurred vision an ophthalmologist should check you for optic neuritis which doesn't usually show up on an MRI scan. A test called visual evoked potentials may also be useful.

That could be good news! A pinched nerve is something that can be fixed and you'll be good as new. I had injured my neck wrestling in high school and spent two weeks in the hospital in traction and then six months in a brace. I suffered with issues for almost 30 years before reinjuring it and having a cervical spine fusion. The surgery wasn't bad at all and post surgery it was like someone threw a switch and turned off all my pain. Hopefully you will have a similar experience!
