OTC product called MAG-07 works amazing, take before bed helps you sleep, obviously magnesium and go first thing in the morning. Available on Amazon.

After 2 months on Motegrity (generic for the past 5 weeks), I have started having bad dizziness every day that hampers normal activities. But this didn't start when I began with brand-name Motegrity. I take it with lots of water all day, and CALM, a magnesium oxide supplement powder, recommended by my gastroenterologist. I don't know if the dizziness is caused by Motegrity affecting my brain or if it is unrelated. I do not have positional vertigo (BPPV) but it feels like vertigo. I don't drink, either, but I feel like I did in my 20's after getting drunk. Not the brain fuzziness, just the unsteadiness. It also makes me feel nauseous. Motegrity has allowed me to have much less constipation, the first treatment to help, so I need to know if I should keep taking it or get off it. My gastroenterologist and his staff have too little experience with the drug to tell me one way or the other.

@tumblewind check your sodium and potassium. I supplement with sea salt for sodium and nu salt for potassium. I get my labs checked too. If you have kidney or heart problems check with your Dr. low sodium can cause headaches, dizziness and seizures. Mine was very low before starting supplements. Taking Linzess and miralax and magnesium citrate messes with my electrolytes.

@beracha It stopped working for me when I changed the time of day I took it. Was taking it every morning and it worked the next morning. I heard others taking it at night so I switched to early evening. Now it hasn’t worked for a week and I’m suffering. Still taking Mag oxide & Miralax during the day. Anyone else have a similar experience with changing time they take Prucalopride (generic Motegrity) or found that the generic doesn’t work as well as brand-name Motegrity?

Hi @maryveltema

You mention taking for a couple months.

When do you take it? What has your experience been, how is it working for you?

I had been taking it at dinner time but my new gastroenterologist prefers
1st thing in the morning on an empty stomach.

About to start Motegrity 2 mg for possible IBS-C, or CIC, or redundant colon. (Everyone here knows how murky these types of digestive issues are.) Just wondering about when to take it? Maybe at bedtime to help deal with side effects? Should I continue to take my Senna/Colace, or discontinue that? I forgot to ask my gastroenterologist, and his office is not returning calls. Thanks. Best Wishes.

I took ONE pill and got serationin syndrome! Blinding headache, vomiting, extreme dizziness, etc. I have take SSRIs before with no issues! What?! It took three days for the symptoms to go away as was lying on the couch. Never again
