constant neck pain
i have been dealing with this annoying neck pain. not sure if it’s from bad posture too much screen time, or just sleeping weird but it is been stiff and achy, especially in the mornings and after long work sessions.

Mubi, you probably know about forward neck position especially when sitting and working on anything but epidemic because of our computers. Chiropractics can help, but it's best to arrange your sitting with your chin tucked, your shoulders back and straight, no downward movement of the neck to view the screen, but ok downward movement of eyes. You might raise the computer, if that is the task master.
Even so you might stretch your neck every 15 minutes, rise and stretch at least every 30 min.
The weight of our heads when not balanced over the spine eventually damages our vertebra.

thanks so much for the detailed advice
i did not realize how much extra weight the neck has to support when the head shifts forward
the link you shared was helpful
i read that gentle stretches like chin tucks neck retractions and even doorway chest stretches can help undo some of the tightness. i started doing a few of them during breaks nothing aggressive just holding for 20–30 seconds
right now,my neck pain is still there but not severe and also got some medicine
A little while ago i was dealing with some pretty annoying neck pain mostly stiffness and aching especially in the mornings and after long work sessions.
The good news is it is gotten a lot better! The pain isn’t severe anymore, just some minor stiffness here and there.
I have been trying to improve my posture, stretch regularly, and take breaks while working. It seems to be helping but I was wondering if anyone has more tips for keeping the neck healthy long term?
Any favorite stretches, exercises or posture fixes that worked for you

It would be good to get an X-ray and mri of your cervical spine to see what is going on. You can see an orthopedic spine specialist for an evaluation and treatment options.
Have you tried neck stretches, massage, warm neck wraps, Salonpas lidocaine pain patches or Voltaren topical pain gel, NSAIDs/ibuprofen or acetaminophen pain relievers, changing pillows and sleep positions, taking breaks from screen time and adjusting neck positions frequently throughout the day, etc.?
A foam roller to use on the floor is helpful for me. I keep it on the kitchen floor and descend freqently throughout the day. I have a number of chiropractors and stop in whenever ( a couple of times a week). They help more than anything else.
really glad to hear you are improving
