I have been diagnosed with Morton’s Neuroma in each foot between my 3rd and 4th metatarsal. How do I get rid of these?
@smoen55 Hello and welcome to Mayo Clinic connect. From what I understand Mortons Neuroma sounds like it can be painful. You may find the following article helpful until others who have experienced this reply. http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/mortons-neuroma/home/ovc-20202652
What did your physician say if anything about treatment?

Hi @smoen55, I add my welcome to Jen’s. I’m tagging @robbinr @trishanna and @cahnny, fellow members who also have experience with Morton’s Neuroma. I hope they can share their experience and maybe answer your questions.

I know that my experience with Morton’s Neuroma was extremely painful and thankfully brief. It came suddenly; I suspect some Yoga motion instigated the onset – Warrior 1?Some move where you don’t put your whole foot down but balance on that toe-to-footpad intersection.I’m sure it is also connected to having arthritis in the big toe – an already compromised digit being stressed.Regards,RobbinR

I’ve been told that there is no cure. Mine has been around for years, and almost never bothers me, at least not in my day-to-day activities. However, I can no longer wear high heels, etc. Can’t force my toes apart either. Wish you good luck.
Good for you for dropping the high heel habit. My MN came on suddenly and just as suddenly ended. I wore a pad to support the big toe and the second toe for a while. And, I stopped doing anything that makes me be on my toes – Literally. Even those Yoga poses where you balance with your heel off the ground. I find staying flat-footed helps tremendously. Robbinr
I had a Morton”s neuroma surgically removed many years ago. THe pain was instantly gone. THe healing was not hard. I would get it out if you can find a surgeon!
Had surgery to help this. I would not do it again. My foot hurts more and is permanently misshaped. Keep in mind this was about 35 years ago. I'm 62.
Dear, I was plagued by same in one foot, foot surgeon removed the tumor in out patient, never had another bit of trouble, or pain, easy surgery, and that was 15 years ago. martha
