Does MCTD (mixed connective tissue disease) ever go into remission?

Posted by jirehprovides @jirehprovides, May 3, 2023

I was diagnosed a year ago with mctd. I am a very active busy person. But have lost muscle tone and strength. Which makes me sad. Struggling with so many strange symptoms. I understand the stiffness and pain with RA. But so many other things that I am not sure how to deal with. Lots of gut issues. Dizziness and weakness happens quite often. I am still working full time and at times struggle to stay the whole time. I am on hydroxychorquine and have been for almost a year. Have taken prednisone for a short time. Just feel that I am in some ways digressing. Does the disease ever go into remission?

I take water aerobics (warm water) and strength training classes for people with Arthritis. The leader has to be trained and certified for the weight training class. A lot of exercise involves range of motion exercises for both small and large muscle groups. I go and it relieves my Arthritis in my one bad shoulder. Seek out community base classes. They are pretty inexpensive for both the water aerobics and strength training. If you can't get out to a community center, you could maybe try on line classes. Hope this helps, Pat.

I think the suggestions can work for connective tissue problems also. I have the same problems as you do. Hopes this helps.Pat.
