Mitral valve replaced with titanium valve

4 weeks ago my mitral valve was replaced with St Jude titanium valve. Op went well. But I have been experiencing terrible lightning type shooting pains mainly on the left side of my head down behind my eye. I am told it's part of anaethetic/ being on heart lung machine and that it will improve in time. Has anyone also experienced this pain and how long did it last for them.
