Mesh Nebulizer— does anyone use one they love?

Posted by spectrumcyclist @spectrumcyclist, 1 day ago

For six years I used the Philips Innispire Mesh Nebulizer. I liked it because it was fast and easy to use and clean, and easy to travel with. I did not like its price or short lifespan compared to compressor nebulizers, but after a decade I could not take the noise of the compressors. Philips stopped making its mesh nebulizer a few years ago, and though I stocked up, I have no more that work. I have not been happy with the ones I bought to replace them— too flimsy and unreliable. Does anyone use a mesh nebulizer they love, or a website that does not get money from Amazon or anyone else when I buy one through one through website's links?

I like Naweti. I just use it on travel.

@spectrumcyclist - I'll be watching - I gave up on mesh nebulizers after 3 unsatisfactory when my Phillips died a couple years ago.

I like Naweti also. I boil it with no problem. I only use it for travel. As far as compressor noise, I have 25 ft. tubing which I love; I can walk to a different room to nebulize.

Do you use hypertonic saline or just meds?

Saline & yupelri & budesonide & arformoterol. I suspect that one or more of them also foul up the mechanism so IU try to follow the directions about cleaning the device.

Thank you to everyone who responded. I ordered a Naweti. We'll see.

A request to Mayo, National Jewish Health, TULC and any other institution that's listening. It is very hard to get unbiased and expert advice on the devices we are told to use. Almost everything on the web is sponsored, 99% of the time with links to Amazon. Also, with the demise of storefront medical appliance stores, you can't see what you are buying until you get it and unbox it, and you can never really tell if you are getting the product you think you ordered or something counterfeit, as I suspect I have received sometimes. I appreciate the strains you are under with insurance and an ever more challenging government regulatory and reimbursement environment, but it would be helpful if you could find a way to give us advice on the brands of products we use. I spend on average two hours/day setting up the device, breaking out the meds, nebulizing and adjusting the nebulizer when it doesn't work, cleaning the device, and then cleaning up after myself. Anything that can help us who listen to our providers lessen this onerous time burden is appreciated.

Yes, I would be interested to know if you can use the Naweti with hypertonic saline.

I have recently gone to a lot of trouble to bring in to Australia a Pari Trek S portable nebuliser. It is a very sturdy unit and seems to do the job...will be relying on it for an upcoming big trip.

Your comment about flimsy and unreliable is why I splurged on the Pari eFlow. I've posted a bunch about it here in this forum. So far, it's been great for daily hypertonic saline use. Quiet and quick, so I can spend the majority of the neb/clearance time on clearance. It comes with me whenever I travel.

Here's one of the places I wrote about it.
