Meds to stop Afib

A 75 year old woman I know says she takes meds that stop her Afib. She may be talking about Metoprolol or something like it which I don't believe stop Afib. Are there actually meds that stop Afib. I take Eliquis to help avoid a stroke nut I haven't heard of meds that stop Afib. I would love to know if there are.

Thank you he was not, but since it happened he warns everyone to be careful with flecainide. My car was a total loss. He hit a telephone pole, because he passed out while driving. He was amazingly lucky actually.

Flecainide totally stops it.

Glad it did for you. It did not help my husband's paroxysmal afib. It does not work for everybody.

Different meds seem to work differently for different people. Taking a med like Eliquis is definitely the right thing to do to prevent a stroke from AFib. Many combinations of meds are prescribed by diff docs. I suppose if something works, thats great. From what I have learned, an ablation may be a better option for some. It was for my husband.
