Medical I.D. Bracelet ?

I have an ascending aortic aneurysm, should I get a medical I.D. bracelet or am I being paranoid?

This is just my opinion, there are conditions where a bracelet would help emergency personnel or a hospital to treat someone or avoid certain treatments if the patient is unable to provide information and there is time for treatment. In my mind aneurysms when dissecting or rupturing do not provide that kind of time, there are minutes between the start of the dissection to when the patient needs to be on an operating table to be able to have a chance.

Now they may be useful if the patient is unable to provide information and he/she is being treated for something different and you want to avoid any intervention that may affect the aneurysm. I did not get one before my repair, but I guess if it gives you peace of mind, I don't see why not.

I had a brain aneurysm and a 5.2cm ascending aortic aneurysm, both were repaired under planned surgeries (no emergencies).

Lauren's Hope has some beautiful bracelets. I bought mine and love it. Look online. Good quality too.

I think a bracelet is wise. Depending on the type of dissection and location, knowing the situation might be crucial and save your life. If you have a Ascending aneurysm and in a situation where you might not be able to speak a bracelet could make the difference between proper treatment quickly and delay. Just my opinion but check with your cardiologist and see what they think.
If it helps reduce your stress, it is worth it and cheap insurance.
God Bless
