Mayo seeking Patient Co-Investigator for research in substance use

Mayo Clinic researhers and partners are submitting a letter of intent for a new grant for research on substance use within Black immigrant families.

They are looking for a Patient Co-Investigator — a named member of the team who shares their perspective, helps adapt our materials so they fit the community, helps lead sessions, and is a voice for immigrant families and youth.

Your contributions as a co-investigator will help shape a research project that brings first-generation Black immigrant parents and their U.S.-raised youths together to identify priorities for future patient-centered research. The proposed project focuses on substance use and family health within Black immigrant families in Wisconsin, Michigan and Washington. You will be asked to share your perspectives, help adapt project materials, and contribute to community sessions.

Who can apply

Please consider applying if you 

• are 18 years or older
• were raised in the U.S. by first-generation Black immigrant parent(s)
• live in Wisconsin

Prior research experience is welcome but not required. This is a paid opportunity, and compensation details will be discussed during the screening process.
