Mavacamten and high BP as side effect

I was told that a slightly elevated blood pressure with Camzyos is a good thing because it means your heart is pumping more effectively and blood is moving faster if your obstruction is gone.

Hi @saurabhshrivastava20 . I had been on mavacamten for a while - a few months? I don't remember exactly. But my family doctor observed that my blood pressure was a little higher than usual. At my next cardiologist appointment I was put on a low dose of Losarten. Stayed that way for a year or two and just recently he cut the losarten in half. I won't claim to understand the information @andyherman3 was given but in my case they wanted the BP kept in check. Since you are still early in the mavacamten game, you should have good opportunities to ask your cardiologist about this to be sure nothing gets too far out of spec. Good luck.

My blood pressure also went up slightly, but not dangerously. My doctor is not worried about it.

My cardiologist said that it was normal to see BP go up while taking Camzyos because my heart begins functioning better. I began BP medication and it has controlled my elevated BP.

Thank you, the replies help in understanding the side effect of Mavacamten. My cardiologist also prescribed a BP medication twice a day in continuation with Beta Blocker.
