Lung cancer back after 2 year!!
My husband was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma , 2 year ago, left lobe lobectomy and chemotherapy was given. Last week he had left upper lobe wedge reaction, pathology outcome : Gr 3 poorly differentiated, margins are negative, no lymphocascular invasion, visceral pleural invasion present,
Will he need chemo or any other treatment followed by surgery ?

@sharwi85, You've been down this road before, but I'm sure that doesn't make it easier.
Is the cellular makeup of the cancer the same as the original lung cancer? His doctor may recommend different treatments depending on the specific type. Was he continuing to be scanned on a regular basis, or did he notice something wasn't right? What sent him to the doctor?

1 Reaction@lls8000 it’s the same type of cancer, we didn’t meet the Dr yet surgery.
Yes he has been continuously scanning, on a regular basis.

1 Reaction@sharwi85 sorry to hear your husband has had some recurrence. I hope his surgery went well. it's good that his margins were clear, but I imagine they will recommend some follow up systemic treatment. do you know if they've checked his tumor for biomarkers?
I am so sorry to hear this. Hopefully this recent surgery will take care of it! What was the stage of the original cancer?
