LT Covid and Blood Type connection

I'm blood type A and have numerous (too many unbearable) symptoms after getting Covid, twice. First in '20 and then in Nov '21. Now down to 89 lbs and withering away with no help from any Doctors or Hospitals - to include Mayo.

For the past few years it was reported on many occasions that Blood Type A is more prone, than Blood type O in catching Covid in addition to becoming more ill; ditto for the vaccine.

I've been keeping a record of folks I know or even run into in a conversation if they became really ill with Covid or have Long Term Covid and quite ill. Sure, enough about 80% are Blood Type A.

So I was curious about folks on this forum and Blood Type and if it holds true. My first thought when I came across the info was Doctors should immediately address folks with Blood Type A with the appropriate medication when catching Covid, or being careful about the vaccines, based on Blood Type.

Forgot to add. .. with that said, many of my friends, colleagues, neighbors who had Covid held this theory to be true. As an example, my neighbors (husband & wife) had Covid 2 yrs ago and he became very ill (type A) was put on a Z-pack. When their Doc told her she should get tested as well and said she doesn't have the virus and not ill at all and no symptoms whatsoever, - she was tested positive! Today,

Same for my relatives and colleagues - those that got very ill were Type A and type O very minor symptoms. They have also recently discovered a particular gene in folks that have Long Term Covid. This gene creates a virus and immune disorder in us (kinda like chicken pox that causes shingles) and when Covid hits us it creates a storm in our body and activates many immune and neurological disorders due to all the inflammation from Covid.

I’m O negative - universal donor. I think you may be onto something connecting blood type and symptoms. I got it in early 2020, and have been a long hauler since. My initial infection was confusion and memory loss, followed 2 weeks later by fatigue that lasted a month, then nerve pain. I never got lung issues. My long haul issues for the past 3 years were memory and lack of appetite. Then a few weeks ago I had a seizure and have been diagnosed as epileptic. Covid is no joke.

Have you tried the Cleveland Clinic's website? I found they had more information than the Mayo on a particular issue I have.

I am O+ and have been long hauler since Jan 2022., and have had it 3 separate times. Each time sets me back.. I feel like I’m doing the two step. Covid sucks

Two questions: 1) were given any meds when you had Covid each time, and 2) were you vaccinated? All these factors, to include the blood type seem to make a difference. In addition to having either CFS, Epstein-Barr Syndrome or Mono in your life.

I think blood type makes a difference, just as pre-existing conditions make a difference in the severity of the Covid one gets. The virus enters each person and selects your most vulnerable weak spot - diabetes, obesity, heart problems, age.....and blood type - and AMPLIFIED it times 10! Designed to eliminate the weak in our society.
