Low dose estrogen patch at 61 and dizziness

Hello everyone. My first post. I am 61 years old and started on the lowest dose estrogen patch 7 weeks ago.
Other than being a minimal smoker ( weaning off to quit stage) I have had fairly good health. Vitals have always been good, bloodwork good other than Crestor for preventative cholesterol levels.
I asked to be put onto the HRT to lift my seriously lagging energy levels, to balance out my short temper and to hopefully help with the insane weight gain in the belly area. So far I have found much more energy and am happy to say that the weight is beginning to slowly drop off. Now the fun part......I was diagnosed years ago with BPV ( benign posterior vertigo). I have had little to no attacks of this in decades now. I am now though onto week 7 and it has hit me like a wave. I literally nearly fell over just turning my head the other day. There is more....I also just got through a death in the family and am currently dealing with an adult son with mental health issues who has been very emotionally abusive these last two weeks. I have noted that these dizzy spells tend to occur more strongly after a verbal or text altercation with him. So I am lost here....is it the HRT affecting my ears...or is it the cortisol spike dealing with the stresses of this past month? Any other ladies out there experience vertigo at the 6 to 8 week stage that is new?? Many thanks ladies....I do not want to stop taking this...I feel so much better otherwise.

Is there any downside to giving it a little more time to see what happens? Can you check for inner ear infection? Has stress caused this before? When my mom used to get anxiety, she’d always feel nauseous and dizzy. After she calmed down, she didn’t feel that way. She insisted it wasn’t anxiety, but it happened for many years. And, doctors said no ear infection.

Any plans to halt the son’s emotional abuse?

The HRT, are you taking progesterone and estrogen? Are you taking these at night? I ask this because I was given it and magnesium 300mg. The dizziness i had was severe so I notified my gyn of the side affects. Fast fwd...the mg's were to high so my progesterone was lowered to 100mg - took that only for 2 weeks then i was directed to apply my estrogen patch all the while still taking 300mg of magnesium glycinate complex. This gave my body a chance to get used to the hormones. My 'dizzy spells' are no wheres near the significance they were in the beginning but there are some evenings when I do get 'loppy' or 'dizzy'. It's the magnesium- that is what makes me feel that way. It helps me to sleep (haven't slept through the night in 8yrs until I started taking this). Talk with your gyn and see if you are taking to high of a dose.
