have they tried Baby Aspirin. I am 92 and had a blood clot following surgery. I have been on aspirin for about 20 years now and have not had another blood clot.
The last few days I’ve been experiencing shortness of breath more than usual and tightness in my chest. Is it worth going to my gp? I mean what can they do other than keep me on blood thinners?
I had a pulmonary embolism a few years ago and have been taking warfarin ever since. They could not find any cause. I had a severe sinusitis a couple weeks ago and developed a bad cough with chest pain. I’ve had 2 chest X-rays 2 weeks apart and now I’m showing a part of my left lung is not inflated. Wonder if this could be another PE. Waiting to schedule a Ct scan
I had two one in my knee and one in my lung when the found them they put me on Eliquis and they were both gone in 3 months. That was 6 months ago they disappeared and I still have no sign of anymore showing

Warfarin was tough for me I could not seem to stay even, either too high, or two low and was constantly at the clinic. I have been on baby aspirin for a very long time now, and have not had another blood clot. Compression socks frequently are offered as they seem to be on the list of possible helps for blood clots. Might ask your doctor about these

I e just been given another 6 months on this blood thi net and in October have another scan and then might have to go on warfarin or clexane injections.
Have they found the cause of your clots. Usually it is something like Atrial Fibrillation. I know a couple of people who have had Ablation which knocks out the electrical system in the heart that is causing the clots. Many times the clots form in the legs if people have varicose veins. Compression socks seem to help a great deal. And there is a new procedure where they put a filter in the Carotid Artery and this prevents clots from getting to the brain.
You might want to ask your doctor about any of these possibilities.

I believe that over time the clots can damage your lungs. I read that somewhere

I’ve got small PEs being treated with Eliquis. Hopefully that works.

Ok so you'll be on blood thinners then?
Well that's not good. So since you're already on blood thinners, how fo they treat that?
