Long COVID caused Mom's blood to thicken.

Posted by rach71973 @rach71973, Dec 14, 2023

72 Year old mom, 3 years ago she caught COVID the 1st time. After the 2nd time she caught it, her blood got really thick. Now, her heart has a hard time pumping the blood throughout her body. Anyone heard of this and are there answers? My mom's current doctor here in FL, I guess just has no answers on what to do, any help is appreciated?

I’m so sorry what your mom is going through. Do the doctors feel it would be harmful for her to be on blood thinners? Or even low dose aspirin? Her blood being thick could be dangerous.

She takes aspirin daily and there is a reason she cannot take blood thinners.

Oh ok, I read somewhere that Irish sea moss could aid in thinning the blood. Just be careful of amount due to the metals. Maybe avoid certain foods that promote inflammation.
I hope and pray for better health for your mom.

My LH dr has me on Nattokinase 2,000mg-6,000mg as you can tolerate. It's a natural enzyme that thins blood by thinning out the fibrinous tissue in a sense. (ie micro clots) Game Changer! or Omega 3 or low dose aspirin, but not Omega 3 and Natto together...to much thinning.

With my long covid, I focused on natural blood thinners. I would suggest doing a search for "natural blood thinners". Vitamin E, Bromelain (which is from pineapple) and drinking extra water can help. Below is an excerpt from an article on foods that thin the blood.
"Some herbs and spices that contain salicylates (a natural blood thinner) include cayenne pepper, cinnamon, curry powder, dill, ginger, licorice, oregano, paprika, peppermint, thyme and turmeric. Meanwhile there are fruits that can aid in blood thinning. These include blueberries, cherries, cranberries, grapes, oranges, prunes, raisins, strawberries and tangerines.

There are several fish species that can aid in anti-clotting objectives. They include albacore tuna, anchovies, herring, lake trout, mackerel, and salmon. The prevalent reason for this is high levels of omega-3 fatty acids. "

My doctor at USF Post Covid Recovery Clinic added Natokinase Serapeptase combo supplement which is helpful in preventing micro clots, so I assume it also helps thin the blood. You take the dosage recommended on the bottle.
