I have been referred to mayo for a giant liver hemangioma to discuss liver resection surgery. Has anyone had a liver resection? Just curious how the Mayo process goes and the surgery.
@sheikham1, I want to drop in to say that I hope you are doing okay with your waiting for surgery. Have your sisters learned if they will be able to come to be with you?

sheikham1 @sheikham1, I just read your post. I hope your surgery will go smoothly and that you will have a quick recovery. Will your sister be able to be with you as you had planned in September?

I had a liver resection Jan 2018 for a 14 x10 cm tumor on right lobe. They were only able to safely remove this one and left the smaller (2-3cm) lessions on left. Mine was a very rare Biliary Cystadenoma, these can turn into adenocarcinoma with time and are slow growing, so safe to say I had mine for a very, very long time.
I had a liter of fluid drained out of it.
I did have another tumor nearby attched to my diaphragm but this was found to be a mesothelial cell tumor (also rare).
