Lignosus to help support lung health
Lignosus has recently been brought to my attention. Does anyone have any experience taking it? Natural plant based tigers milk mushroom.
I have MAC, Bronchiectasis, CF and was treated for psuedomonas last year after a bronchoscopy too. Doing all possible to avoid big 3 because of history with C Diff - 2x.
Thanks in advance for any feedback. Good or bad.
Happy Thursday!

My Pulmonologist ok'd trying this. I just placed an order for the 3 month supply yesterday. Will report back in a few weeks with an update. I'm not sure how long it takes to start seeing any results? Probably depends on the person.
Well, we can compare notes. I should be getting mine any day now. Let's think it is going to do great things !
I also ordered some to try..
Good morning, I was curious about what the lung experts have to say and this is one article I found from the chief medical officer of the COPD foundation:
"David Mannino, MD (Chief Medical Officer, COPD Foundation )
This is a supplement that has not been evaluated by the FDA. If one goes to their information page you'll see a caveat to that effect. There are other "mushroom based" supplements touted as being beneficial to the respiratory system- but I have never seen well done trials documenting their effectiveness. I have also not seen studies demonstrating harm. The supplements I'm OK with are N Acetyl Cysteine (NAC), Zinc, multivitamins, Vitamin D, and Fish Oil." Lignosus can increase autoimmune reactions, reduce blood clotting and change the effectiveness of antidiabetic drugs, so if any of these applies to you, talk to you care team.
Your doctor will probably not know about the P63 OR BASAL LUNG STEM CELS.
Unless he researches this field.
UNC health is doing research here and looking at applying to the FDA at the end of the year for a clinical trial.
Here is one study which has been done regarding Lignosus:

I am very curious about whether this product, apart from assisting immunity, might reduce the volume of mucus generated. I have Bronchiectasis and asthma and neb twice a day, producing at least 7oz each neb session. Recently I have had sensations of drowning, with so much fluid in my lungs. Thankfully I can with effort remove the mucus, but it would be wonderful to not have so much produced.
If the inflammation is reduced, I am thinking the amount of mucus should also be reduced? Does anyone know? It says on the product that it relieves cough and phlegm.
Still waiting for my order. Will get back to you after I've been on it for a few weeks. Best of luck to you too. Maybe we will be trendsetters.
Hopeful!

Lets all check back in a few weeks after starting with the Lignosus with our experiences at that point.

Great idea. I'm trying the Nootropics Depot version. Will report back if I notice any benefits. Good luck!
