Lewy Body Dementia with Parkinson

@sillyblone - I'm terribly sorry to hear about this. That is so much loss in a short time. Please do allow yourself to grieve. If you feel like you have more to process than you could talk out with your friends, do consider going to a therapist specializing in grief.

A grief support group (like they have at hospitals, hospices and churches) really helped me a lot when my father died. It was very helpful to be in a room weekly with people who all wanted to talk about loss and grief.

How has today gone for you?

I would like you all to know that we buried my spouse this month and my brother this past Thursday! The service was wonderful and some of my brothers friends spoke about how he was as a friend, his kindness and his giving of himself while he was fighting with Parkinson’s. I found out before he died that he had wanted to see me as I had just arrived to the place where we grew up in and he was my best friend as well as my brother! He was such a great example to many as he was always around if you needed him! He was the greatest brother a girl could have. I saw him and he squeezed my hand when I told him who I was! He wanted to hear my voice and feel my presence! I whispered to him that he could go to see my spouse and many others in heaven! He opened his eyes and squeezed my hand again! I knew it was time for him to go to heaven!!
The next morning actually very early in the morning I received a call that he had transitioned to his next place in heaven! I almost fell to my knees and was crying!! That same day was my spouses funeral! To say that I was in a fog would be an understatement! This past week we buried my sweet loving brother! I was still dealing with the loss of my spouse! He was buried with honors and I received the flag! All the Parkinson’s was behind us! Thank God! I still cry for them both and cannot believe they are really gone! I hope all of you the best and know you can talk with me about Parkinson’s as this is the third family member that I have in my family! It’s over but, still hurts and makes me sad and sometimes happy! I miss them all!!🙏🏻💕💕🇺🇸

@sillyblone thank you. It is really insane but many medical staff a very little knowledge of Louie body dementia. I have to be there a good part of the day simply to keep her safe.

@raybepko You are the advocate for her! You hit the nail on the head ! I never let anyone belittle or disrespect myself or my spouse! I knew more than some of the medical staff! There were so many ridiculous comments made and I would redirect! I really was not rude or disrespectful! But I knew him better than anyone else!! Keep it up and never settle! Hugs to you both!
