I had a nodule removed from my left cornea about 15 years ago. I need to address one on my right cornea soon. It’s due to Salzmann’s Nodules.
Mine was done by a skilled ophthalmologist in her office with numbing of the eye. It wasn’t painful at all. Not even the numbing. The problem is the recovery. For days it’s very uncomfortable. My comfort is also impacted by dry eye. It took me a long time to recover and I’m not sure why. I suffered for almost a year. It was significant and gives me pause to do it again, but I must, because it must be addressed if I want to have cataract surgery in the future.
I hope there are posts from others who had good experiences. I hope the procedure has improved since mine, but my current corner specialist at Duke Eye Center explained that it’s basically the same. They scrap off the nodule. I hope my experience was not typical.
