Kahler Grand Hotel: Any updated info about improvements?
Has anyone stayed at the Kahler Grand Hotel recently? I can only find older comments. Seems like in the past they've had problems but I'm told that they've improved. Would like to stay there because it's so convenient.

Cheyenne I would love to hear your suggestions. The closer to the Mayo Building the better! A short walk would be fine.
Thank you Debra!
Here are a few options we have for lodging in the downtown area of Rochester. These are all within a 3 block area of the clinic. They will all have a shuttle that can drop you off or are connected with the clinic buildings by our enclosed walkways we have.

I have stayed at the Kahler numerous times. My most recent stay was last April during the lobby renovation. I find the front desk staff to be helpful and friendly. Because the hotel is older, there are some issues (it can take the shower a long time to warm up) but none that I find detrimental to staying there. The rooms are large with lots of storage space…built in shelves and a closet with doors. I have sometimes stayed there for two weeks and have been very comfortable. You can’t beat the location. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you so much Cheyenne!
Thanks so much Bernese. I appreciate it!
Bernese53 did you try room service and was it on time?
Yes. I got the Tuscan Chicken and it was absolutely delicious!
We just stayed there in August. It's dated, no question. But you can't beat the location. It's connected to the clinic through an underground walkway called the subway. We had the jr suite, included a fridge, coffee maker and microwave. The bathroom was very dated, didn't really matter. It was clean and comfortable. Dunkin is right around the back side and Ruths Chris steakhouse is off the lobby. There is a parking garage, connected to the 2nd floor hallways.
Thanks Bernese!
