Just got diagnosed with ITP. Platelets at 3. In PCU
No answers: just we don’t know. IVGs. Now prednisone. Let’s just see what happens. I feel like a guinea pig. Anyone else getting this runaround?

If your Platelet count was 3,000, that would be critical.

1 ReactionMy daughter had ITP caught early while preparing for surgery. They blasted her with steroids which got it in safety range to get the surgery done. They have since weaned her from those. She is holding steady at 120,000. There is a different drug(Nuplast?) if she gets low enough for it to be dangerous. So far it has been several months. She sees a specialist in Pittsburgh.
