Hmm....could be you need more calcium?

Maybe one, two, or all or medication.
I think statins cause joint pain? Fluoroquinolones "kill" me.

My joint pain is mainly caused by artificial sugar!
I know this for a fact because my sugar intake was dramatically reduced as a result of a gall bladder attack and ultimate removal of my gall bladder on May 6th. Was eating only protein and my carbs were just brown rice for 3 weeks. My join pain was basically gone. Had a birthday recently and “treated” myself to ice cream cake and a birthday maple bar and OMG did my joins react with incredible pain! Lesson learned if I am going to eat junk I will pay for it with unrelenting joint pain. Not even worth it … I have to admit I am a sugar addict!

I have shoulder, neck and hip girdle pain from PMR and overall joint pain from osteoarthritis and the wear and tear of being 73. During my life I have broken both ankles, dislocated my right shoulder, had a bunionectomy on my left foot and had three surgeries on my right knee. I also have SMM which can also cause joint pain. When I feel pain, I don't always know exactly what it is from, but I can usually guess based on what hurts and sometimes the weather. My knees ache more before and during rainy days. My hip girdle pain is from PMR. I'm not sure if sugar substitutes cause joint pain for me, but every one of them that I have tried affects my heart rhythm, including the natural ones.

@sonieaml
Me too and I have 15 lbs. to prove it.
I do not use artificial sugar or anything artificial or low fat. When they take the fat out they add sugar to make editable. So real sugar, real butter etc. But I think you are exactly right about the joint pain-sugar-connection. Also using my arms, legs and muscles makes them hurt...........so what's the point in having extremities if you can't use em?? 🙂

Have you been tested for hemochromatosis? It's rarely diagnosed, it's a genetic blood disorder and it will make everything hurt.

Haha, no thanks. I have enough diagnoses for one person as is...........but thanks!!

Looking for suggestions for using natural sugars in tea/coffee etc..please as all sugar substitutes like Stevia leave an awful after taste which i don't like..is Jaggery better? Tku

I do not add sugar to anything..........tea, coffee, etc. nothing. My blood sugar is high however. I hardly ever eat fast- food (maybe once a year), don't bring home cookies or cakes (but if at a gathering I will have something homemade) Do drink a glass or two of red wine a few times a week, and do eat red meat at least once per week, but plenty of fresh fruits and veggies. And still I am 10-12 lbs. overweight!! At 79 I do not have the stamina to burn off more lbs. Oh sorry, I have no artificial sugar substitutes, as I use none.

I have MDS and before I was diagnosed I started having joint pain, Ankle, hip, knees , shoulder and finger joint pain with reduces movement. Since I'm 77 yrs old I assumed it was age related. But since I've been on this site, I see many people with MDS have these symptoms. Other symptoms for me is lack of energy and strength with leg muscles. I also have to be very careful not to even get scratches as I bleed for a few hours for what used to be considered a scratch. I will bleed just flossing my teeth for 3-6 hrs. I have black and blue spots all over, not from bumping area. One of the most annoying this is the little bumps and my skin itches all over and I have found nothing to ease the itch. When I itch, if I'm not careful when I scratch, I will break the skin and then bleed. I've asked my doc and she says its do to my crappy blood issues.
