Jacksonville needs another Mayo Clinic
The Mayo is the BEST hospital in Florida but due to the population increase in FL they have to expand and build another Mayo Clinic as it has become too hard for them to handle all the new patients. It takes weeks to get an appt or proceedure. Need a Urology dept. and Thyroid dept that treats as they only do consults. If youre on Medicare you cant get a PCP as they are not excepting Medicare patients. All my specialist are at the Mayo but its so hard to coordinate with my PCP in St Aug .PLEASE MAYO MUST EXPAND . I dont know if I posted this in the right place but I would like to get some feedback on this situation. Please dont take this as a negative post but I think its a very real situation . THE MAYO CLINIC IS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST HOSPITAL , CLINIC, WITH THE BEST DRS

@bosco17, I have to agree. I would even go as far as to say that more Mayo Clinics are needed across the country. in every state.
The good news is that Mayo Clinic is expanding in Jacksonville, Florida. The less good news is that it can't come fast enough. Planning, building, administrating, staffing, etc takes time. Here are a few articles that talk about current and future expansion plans specific to Mayo in Florida.

I recently heard the MD Head of Advanced Care at Home, Mayo Clinic speak at a conference. The article is from 2020. I'm happy to report that this new model of care is fully operational and expanding every day.
