Is your Lifestraw membrane microfilter floppy or stable in the cap?

I just changed out the membrane microfilter in my Lifestraw pitcher. I don't use the carbon filter. The previous microfilter was stable in the cap and didn't move around. The new microfilter is floopy and moves around. Does anyone else have this problem? Additionally, I watched the water drain out of the filter housing (I removed the top of the pitcher) and observed that water empties around the microfilter. That would lead me to believe that not all the water is being filtered. Has anyone else observed these two problems?

I don’t think it’s about if it’s a “good” carbon. NTM will just thrive in any carbon filters them apparently.

I saw somewhere on some thread Dr F mentioned changing Lifestraw carbon filter every 3 weeks, But im not sure why we would need to since lifestraws carbon is AFTER microfilter and thus shouldn’t have much or any NTM ?
On the other hand, RO carbons are before the 0.001 filter so those carbon filters will have NTM and must be changed but HOW often? Anyone know?

THIS begs the question do we need to change Lifestraws microfilter MORE OFTEN than company says to for non-NTM/BE people? Because that filter definitely would have the NTM. Oy

I went to their website and sent them a message. I believe it’s: info@lifestraw.com I just asked them to change my subscription from every other month to monthly. They sent me a confirmation to my email.
To just order filters without a subscription they do list them on their website. Just hit “shop now”
