Is this RLS (restless leg syndrome)?

Posted by Darlia @darlia, Oct 14, 2017

I have been a member of Mayo Connect in other groups too. I am trying to find out if the symptoms I have in my muscles is connected to anything I already have been diagnosed with.
Also, would it be a Rheumatologist or Orthopedic Dr. That I need for this? I asked the Rheumo and they said it's nothing that they handle. But I would think they would because it feels like muscles.
At night while relaxing, my legs get restless, want to tense up, like on rubber bands. Then my right arm, just my forearm starts to feel the same. Then it makes me put my hand into a "claw" as it intensifies.
Any clues anyone?

I also suffer from RLS. I have found a natural essential oil cream that works great and I also take ropinerole. It is frustrating that it only happens at night.

I am interested to know f anyone has tried the non -THC marijuana that is being sold as a natural non medical product for all of the horrible pain etc that is associated with so many of the autoimmune disorders.

If any of this is not allowed I understand

Can you tell me the name of the natural essential oil cream that you use? I take 3 Ropinerole pills nightly and it's not working. I'm thinking about THC Gummies to help me sleep, but am afraid it might affect my breathing. I use a CPAP with oxygen nightly. Thanks for your help!

Do you think you are augmenting? Symptoms coming on earlier and earlier and getting worse. That is a lot or Ropinerole. Gabapentin is usually the first drug to try before the dopamine antagonists are tried. Curious.

I took Gabapentin for years and it no longer worked so we tried the Robinerole. It seems to be more effective, but not always. I just wish I could get a good night's sleep without being anxious all the time due to my legs constantly moving. I see my CPAP Specialist on Monday so perhaps he can figure out what's going on after he reads my machine. Maybe it'll tell what I might change. Fingers crossed!!!

I have the same issues. It feels like i need to stretch. But that only helps while I’m doing it. I was put on Mirapex , this seems to be helping. I will usually have a very bad night if I miss it. I really helps with the arms also.

Thank you. I will keep that in mind. So far, my friend gave me some THC cream and I've been putting it on my legs everynight. So far, it's working. Praying it continues!!! Stay well!

You might not like it but I had Restless Legs Sydrom a while back and my Dr. at the time told me to drink 1/2cup pickle juice when it acts up and it really worked. I would also have my potassium and other vitamin levels checked if you haven't already. Blessings
