Is there any relief for Grover’s disease?

Is there any relief for Grover’s Disease? I’ve been on steroids, steroid creams, antihistamines, anti-itch creams and nothing is bringing relief to the intense itching. In fact, the rash had spread to most of my body. I’m bruising as well. Seeing my doctor again next week to talk about alternative treatments. Any suggestions? I’m desperate.

I noticed this article last week. It doesn't sound as though you are getting full access to treatments. Best wishes.

I understand completely. The itching is relentless. I have tried to deal with Grover’s for 3 years. Steroid cream didn't do anything. Prednezone didn’t work for me either. Triamcinolone cream gives a little help. Hard to believe with all of the amazing minds in medicine there hasn’t been a breakthrough. Wish we could all do a blood test to find something.

After trying those steroid creams and ointments I’ve finally found comfort and relief from needing to scratch with Dupixent; simple self injections every 2 weeks.

In fact, I'm meeting my doctor this week and talking about going on Dupixent after reading articles about it giving relief. He wanted to put me on Acitretin. After researching the medication I refused to take it.

I saw my dermatologist and received the first doses of Dupixent. How long did it take you to start finding relief from using it?

The initial dose was 2 injections and if memory serves me correctly; the itching slowly went away over the next week. I’ve now been on it for 7 months and the only itch is relieved by just pressing on the spot for 2 seconds, no scratching needed. All the best to you going forward.

Oh and the need to press on an itchy spot only happens rarely like once a week or every two or three weeks.

After months and every treatment under the sun, on my way today to see about RX for this. Insurance won’t cover it for GD & it’s expensive. Mind if I ask how you went about getting it?

My dermatologist has given me samples to use initially. He also advised me to go online and apply for a Dupixent MyWay Copay Card to help with costs. I'm waiting from my pharmacy to see what my cost will actually be. If it's really expensive my doctor said he'll work with me.

So far the itching has started to subside and the rash seems to be lessening. Keeping fingers crossed.
