Is there any medication to help my asthma go away?

I am on 200mcg of Trelegy and take 10mg of montelukast. They have helped some but still have an asthma attack every time I go outside. The attacks aren't as intense as they once were. Just wondering what may be added or changed to relieve the attacks. Or is it just something I just need to get use to

@ricktweld Damn, Trelegy for me for 3Months supply was going to be 180 with insurance. But luckily my doctor gave me a coupon from the manufacturer. So now I have a yr supply free. Maybe your doctor may have something for that medication as well. Doesn't hurt to ask.

@ricktweld My doctor wants to do the same. Not sure it will be covered under my insurance either. The side effects for this drug are a lot of the problems I already have....joint pain and
headaches. I too have allergic asthma.

This year past spring and summer have been brutal. My asthma has eased up a lot since fall.

I am so sorry you are battling this. Asthma is tiring.

Hi @jenniferguajardo,
I too have asthma and a few other issues. Have you considered a course on breathing. It can help immensely! Understanding the triggers and how to help yourself along with medication can help you manage your asthma. I learned to swim very young to help me with mine. You would be surprised at how many world class athletes have asthma.
A good breathing course will teach how less is more when having an asthma attack.

Are you wearing a mask when you are outside? I notice a huge difference when I don't wear a mask outside. I am allergic to a lot outdoors and I feel so much better when I am not breathing in what I am allergic to.

I have an air purifier that is super strong and it has helped so much. Do you have an air purifier in your home or at least where you sleep? Think about getting one if you don't have one. I can give you more info on mine, it is a hospital type grade one.

@covidstinks2023 I misunderstood my copay of $500 per month. Was informed yesterday that the copay is $2,028 per month!!!! Forget that! Hope you have better luck.

@ricktweld If you are on Medicare make sure Dupixent is covered in your Part D drug plan or Part C Medicare Advantage formulary. If it's covered then total costs for the year cannot exceed $2000 (the $2000 cap includes the entire batch of prescriptions you fill, if ALL are on the formulary). If it isn't then take advantage of Medicare open enrollment to look for a new plan.

If not on Medicare, you can check with your healthcare provider's insurance staff for more options.
