Is there any medication to help my asthma go away?
I am on 200mcg of Trelegy and take 10mg of montelukast. They have helped some but still have an asthma attack every time I go outside. The attacks aren't as intense as they once were. Just wondering what may be added or changed to relieve the attacks. Or is it just something I just need to get use to

1 ReactionThere are many different treatments available now. The guidelines are for inhaled corticosteroids to be used as a first line maintenance medication. Remember that if someone is allergic or cannot tolerate milk products, that Trelegy is a milk based product. It is steroid based, but in the event of an asthma attack, the Trelegy will not help you. You should have a rescue inhaler as well. Good luck.

Hi,
I have been an asthmatic since I was 4 years old (now 62 years old). Thankfully, there are many treatments available and the guidelines are always being updated. Not good that he passed out at work, and lucky someone intervened to help him. Now will be the time for them to find out what caused this severe reaction. Once he gets over this hurdle, the provider will find the best combination to help him go through this. He may need allergy testing so he knows what to avoid. It can be very scary - especially when first diagnosed. There are times when asthma is very stable, and time when there are exacerbations. Having a good provider, whom he can trust, is essential. Good luck to both of you.

1 Reaction@sabzgirl Thx u, I'll look into it 🙂👍
I use Accolade twice a day. Also use your nebulizer. I was born an asthmatic and received allergy shots for 7 years.
Find a good pulmonologist. I started Trelegy couple years ago. It doesn’t help me as much as using the ones I was on. Experiment with the available medications. Good luck.

1 ReactionBut she said she couldn't give me at home injections with this med because bits not one unr supposes to do on a regular basis
@jenniferguajardo she also gave me another shot for asthma
@lisalucier Thx for the info everything help. I was wondering n oxygen for 6hrs in the ER. They were gonna admit me. But they stated since I was seeing my pulmonary specialist Monday that I should be fine till then. The ER doc wanted to prescribe me oxygen. But its a small town hospital and the lady that does that paperwork isn't there on the weekend. So they told me to ask my specialist to prescribe it for me.
So went to my specialist yesterday. And I explained everything to her. And she stated she couldn't prescribe it unless my level drop at her office and she said the one the nurse did on me look fine. So she said I'll have u do a 6min walk test. So I started doing that with the nurse in the hallway and I been made one and a half wal through and they dropped below. She told me to stop and test the as over it wasn't even a minute. So they put me on oxygen there and she said I'm prescribing u oxygen.
She also wants to do an echo she brought up something about the blood may not be connecting to my heart properly and maybe that's y my levels r dropping.
She was gonna let me do an at home sleep test but since my level r low she said I needed to come in because they have to connect me to oxygen and the sleep test wires
I asked if she could diagnose what kinda asthma I have she said she didn't know unless I get more testing she will know more. She just says I have general asthma. But it could be just when I'm being active it sets it off.
The reason for the sleep study she said she could look at my oxygen level when I'm asleep
