Is there a cure for inflamed tongue fungus?

My wife (62 years old``) suffers from inflamed tung / some sort of mouth and throat fungus. This has seriously affected her ability to eat and keep her weight up. She has been given a "magic mouthwash" which helps a little; it's a temporary appeasement, not a solution.

My wife was diagnosed with lupus and sturgeon two years ago. Her immune system is compromised most likely allowing this terrible infection in her mouth to continue unchecked causing anemia.

In January (2025) We caught the flu. Her body weight dropped from 104 lbs to 89 lbs. and landed her in the hospital with Pneumonia for 3 days.

It's 21 March 2025: We have yet to fully recover from the flu. She managed to get her weight back to 100 lbs, and now we are both sick with severe colds—once again, compliments of our 8-month-old grandbaby nursery daycare.

I fear if we can not get rid of her mouth fungus, she will continue in and out of the hospital and worse.

Can anyone recommend a doctor or group that has positive treatment for eliminating tung, mouth, and throat fungus?

Hi @davidvictordavid,

I had a multicolored tongue and spent a long time bringing it back to normal. I used the chlorahexadine liquid on a Qtip to paint my tongue, so as to not discolor my teeth. I also took chlortrimazole tablets (not at the same time of day). I now use a metal tongue scraper everyday.

How awful for you. There must be an actual cure for this situation.

Hoof and mouth disease only existed in animals. Hand, foot and mouth disease is a childhood illness that causes sores.

Cute.

Oral thrush or oral candidiasis:

Here's more information from Mayo Clinic
- Oral Thrush https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/oral-thrush/symptoms-causes/syc-20353533

This seems to be spot-on. However, two completions of treatment have not affected a change. It may be related to the medication she is taking for her lupus.

To be continued

does she have any foot pain. Off and on there is also a toxicity test she can take to see if it is mold related toxicity blood test......
Mold in your house or under the house in the walls ... mold spores also could be a factor. . fluconizole for athlete's foot see about that just putting it out there ,,myself l have been fighting hosheshumoto thyroiditis atrophy hypothyroidism uncontrolled now total thyroid atrophy with mild pituitary atrophy,,,, according to the indocornaligist as of present day
