Is it possible to develop bronchiectasis years after exposure
I was in the U.S. Air Force from 1975-1979. I was exposed to Aircraft exhaust fumes and second-hand smoke, as tobacco smoke was allowed in offices at that time. I did not have many symptoms and was diagnosed with bronchiectasis until 43 years later. Has anybody heard if it is possible to develop bronchiectasis years after exposure and can somebody be A-Symptomatic to this illness ? Thank you for your input.

Hi yes and i think that is what has happeed in my case.I had exposure to fibre glass batt resins 20 years ago and had a severe immune reaction.Could not beath my sleep patterns were interupted.
Now lately i have incresed sputum daily and mild frontal headaches.I will be having a a nose surgery to correct my septum or the centre bone of the nose as it needs to be centered and straightened.
This may help to alow my sinuses better air flow.
I hear there are some promising new treatments approved by the FDA that reduce symtom severity and also on the further arizon the Chinese have a new treatment in eary stage trials about P63 lung Basal stem cells which have shown to rebuild damaged areas of the airways.
I am on Fasenra, an automatic pen injection every 8 weeks. I also use arformoteral, a nebulizer perscription. They are both a maintenance drug. I was doing Prednisone approximately three times a year, Which is not good, So the doctor put me on these drugs. And Oh my gosh, what a difference. Excellent results take buddy for a walk Take Buddy for a walk
