Irritated and itchy skin with no rash

Posted by 1953 @hopeful1953, Oct 20, 2022

Has anyone experienced itchy skin in one area that travels to another area in a line. I thought it might be shingles. There is great pain inside my body’s underarm. A swab sample was taken in the ER. The test turned out negative for shingles. This condition started about 3 week after my positive test for COVID. My Dr ordered a script for neurontin which has calmed the pain. I have had this condition for at least 5 weeks.

Where is it? It might be a "contact" reaction. My son had a reaction to the seems in his clothes and he would have lines. Even the labels irritated him. The other time he had lines is when the viruses in his body got out of control, he could literally write his name on his arm and it would come up in red lines. You might want to contact an infectious disease specialist to get their opinion.

After my first infection in may I developed hives. I linked it to food, wheat and red meat. There’s something else too but I haven’t figured it out yet but definitely better without wheat and red meat. I think Covid can trigger allergies

Hi @beebee000 I am sorry that you are experiencing this condition. It is difficult to explain this skin condition. Has any product had an effect on the itch?
Thank

It is a sensitivity to something from Covid not an allergy. Try Zyrtec and Pepsid together in the morning and the evening. You can also try it mid-day and see if that helps. You really need to get someone to run some bloodwork on you to see what if any viruses you have in your system and if they are setting it off. You would need to see an infectious disease specialist for this.

Hello @delawarefaith
This itch is difficult to explain.
In my opinion, unless you have personally experienced this condition little can be understood. I feel like my itch is under control in the last couple of days.
My neurologist prescribed Gabapentin 300mg.
It is the one drug that stopped the itch. A nerve blocker med. I will share the medications that were prescribed but with little to no effects Atarax Anstocort Kenalog 1% ointment. I never made it through the night.
I tried skin over the counter Aspercreme XYZAL and Zertec. My itch started after COVID virus. I pray you all find good medical help.

I had several itching problems like this. In the last three years the edge does go in a line and moves from arm to arm. I first thought it was from a bug and then I thought it was something internal. I don’t know what it was, but it is gone, but has left scars on my arms.

Me too. It appears to have affected my skin everywhere and never know where or when it will show up. Face, arms, hands, torso, legs, scalp. even gums and eyes feel irritated. Hyper sensitive with redness, itching, rash or any combo and comes and goes whenever. So disparaging

Has anyone had terrible itching in different areas of the body-not the same everyday?
