@dianedonohue Thank you Diane for your kind words. I am just like you trying to find solutions to our health issues. We come together and help each other when and if we can.
@altabiznet That is true. Quality is everything. Last year, I tried a cheaper brand I picked up in a drugstore, and it did not sit well with me at all, digestion wise. I’d open up the capsules and add it to whatever I was cooking. I didn’t taste it, and it was much easier to digest that way.
But the Qunol has been great. Just keep your receipts like I did in case you need to return it. 😂
Thank you. I checked the website 1md.com. The product is Curcumin + Boswellia. Both are recommended for inflammation and joint stiffness. Per multiple sources, Curcumin also needs Bioperine (black pepper extract) to get absorbed in the gut. I am also looking at Pure Formulations product - Curcumin + Bioperine capsules. So far, I have not tried any supplements but started adding Turmeric powder and fresh Ginger to my dishes. Although, supplements may be a more reliable source of curcumin, as they have standardized amounts in each capsule.
In the meantime, I am using Low Dose Naltrexone for inflammation control. It does require a slow titration process but my pain from inflammation is down about 50%.
@say7418 I am so happy for you! Please make sure to titrate your medication very slowly as that will minimize side effects. I am seeing the doctor soon to increase my dose from 4.5 mg to six… To see if that makes me feel even better.

@vostie I did have issues with constipation and I had been advised to take it at night, but discovered it was greatly disrupting my sleep. 3 weeks in, constipation is resolved and taking it in the morning was magic for sleep.
From the label, there isn’t black pepper extract as part of the formula, which is essential in absorption of the curcumin. I have to do more digging into the Boswellia Serrata extract. I’m curious if that aids in the absorption as well.
I also noticed there’s 400 mg of curcumin in two capsules, where the Qunol brand has 1500 mg in 2 capsules.
More isn’t always better, of course, but it bears looking into further. Thanks so much for this!

Thinking on your thoughts ....I just looked into it a bit more, and it said that the use of the Longvida® Optimized Curcumin for Improved Absorption and Effectiveness is better than peperine. The Bosawalla is apparently and added benefit.
Regarding the dosage it says sometimes higher dosage can lead to upset stomachs. I had heard those with that issue are using the liquid Qunol a while back but that was all I read. This does not bother me at all. I will say that the 1MD is much more expensive though... so that is a consideration. I also use their Probiotic and the Vision.
I started the Curcumin back when I had a shoulder issue and a twisted a knee and it ached for ever after.. I hardly have any issues with sore joints unless my back goes out but that's another story. Good luck!

@kmm29 I haven’t had any stomach upset with the Qunol liquid or capsules, thankfully. It’s interesting how everyone metabolizes things so differently. Still, I’ll continue to research, as I’ve never heard of Bosawalla before!

@vostie I have been on 2mg LDN for 3 weeks and am really excited about the possibilities as I increase the dose.
