Infomercial with Elizabeth Moffett, Respiratory Therapist
Somehow I got sucked into a long infomercial by a woman who claims to be a leading respiratory therapist in the country. I knew that she would eventually talk about her product, but I didn't realize the talk would be so long. She gave background on her investigation into a product that could help people with mucus accumulation. She didn't mention BE, but she did mention other lung diseases and clumped the rest in. The product is called Breathe and you use one to two droppers each morning. Honestly, I had already spent valuable time already that I stopped before it got to the price.
The ingredients are Mullein, Peppermint, Ginger Root, Thyme leaf, Lemon Peal Extract, Manuka Honey.
I am fairly new to BE and to this site, so this may have already been discussed.
I am wondering if anyone has heard of this and if there has been any research on these ingredients about which you know.
I am 83, diagnosed about a year with BE. Using a puffer but no other device at this time.
Thank you. Roz Wattel

Mullein has come up in conversation here a few times. I haven’t tried it myself, but I do enjoy manuka honey. I can’t say it’s made any difference for my bronchiectasis, but I love the taste and find it soothing on my throat. A lot of people consider it “healthy,” and it certainly doesn’t hurt to enjoy something comforting.
As for the “Breathe” product, the biggest benefit might honestly be the placebo effect, which might not be a bad thing! If something helps you feel better, even in a small way, that can be valuable. https://usa-breathe.com
Of course, we’d all love to find a natural remedy that truly helps -- or even cures -- bronchiectasis. That is the dream! But until that day comes, there are always going to be people marketing miracle cures that might not live up to their claims. I suspect this is one of those. Please report back if/when you try it.
Thanks for your input and the web site. I probably won't try it since I'm allergic to some of the ingredients. I might try the honey for its soothing ability. Roz
I haven;t tried that particular product, but I do often take the individual ingredients for lung and throat issues. Not sure if they help much, but they definitely don't cause any problems. The higher grades of manuka honey are believed to be antibacterial. Like scoop I enjoy the taste. More buttery than standard honey.
I appreciate the input.
Where do you buy the Manuka honey and what brand is higher grade.
Thank you. Roz
You can find Manuka honey at various places....Target, Amazon, etc.... Just google it. The important thing is to find genuine Manuka honey from New Zealand. It is indeed an antibacterial and often used to treat skin issues.
Thank you. I'll buy some. Roz
