Immune Suppression Meds
Hi Transplant Family!
I hope everyone is doing well. I have a question. My Tacrolimis level is out of range and needs adjustment. After two years post kidney transplant, does your transplant center make the dosage adjustment or does your local nephrologist?
Many thanks!

Hello @karen4nn
I am very impressed by your local Nephro for checking with the Transplant center. - Your nephro is down to earth/pragmatic and wishing well for the transplant recipient.
On my end - the the local nephrologists - have an attitude and will not talk to the transplant center.... guess what the local area transplant centers are not in the top 20 in the nation ( and we are located in a big city with 3 transplant centers) ... this is what one encounters when you go out of state in pursuit of excellent Transplant Center and Teams.
Regards
Hi @l0lag0lag0b3 and @karen4nn 😊
It is very nice to meet you Karen! When did you have your kidney transplant?
I wholeheartedly agree with BOTH of you!
The "dream process" and the not so great reality that happens frequently when dealing with an overwhelmed healthcare system post-pandemic.
Hello @hello1234
1.5mg tacrolimus
1000mg mycophenolate
Total WBC count 8500
break down: Neutrophils 7700, Lymphocytes 500 (low)
Let's see how this works out, I have annual video chat 18th of this month with the transplant center.... I send them my concerns. ( based on what I am reading since Platelet count in normal - it could be I need to improve on the quality and quantity of protein or reduce Tacro or both.. So we have increased the intake of good quality of protein). Regards.
Hi @l0lag0lag0b3
I am happy to hear that you have a video consultation coming up.
(I am curious if they will lower your Tac or your Mycophenolate).
Please keep me posted on what they suggest!
