I'm a grandpa!
In 2021, when I was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer in my mid 50s and given only a few years to live, one of the things I had to come to terms with was that I'd never know my grandchildren.
How wrong I was.
He was born yesterday, and has my real name (not "North" 🙂) as his middle name. I held him today, and thanks to the huge recent advances in managing metastatic prostate cancer, it's no longer foolish to hope that I might even get to attend his high-school graduation some day.

1 ReactionI'm so happy for you and your family, but especially for your grandson who will have you for both his grandpa and, of course, his North Star.
