I'm a grandpa!

In 2021, when I was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer in my mid 50s and given only a few years to live, one of the things I had to come to terms with was that I'd never know my grandchildren.

How wrong I was.

He was born yesterday, and has my real name (not "North" 🙂) as his middle name. I held him today, and thanks to the huge recent advances in managing metastatic prostate cancer, it's no longer foolish to hope that I might even get to attend his high-school graduation some day.

I'm so happy for you and your family, but especially for your grandson who will have you for both his grandpa and, of course, his North Star.

Congratulations Grandpa. Many years of enjoyment ahead and grandchildren keep you young and at times, exhausted.
