I'm a grandpa!

In 2021, when I was diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer in my mid 50s and given only a few years to live, one of the things I had to come to terms with was that I'd never know my grandchildren.

How wrong I was.

He was born yesterday, and has my real name (not "North" 🙂) as his middle name. I held him today, and thanks to the huge recent advances in managing metastatic prostate cancer, it's no longer foolish to hope that I might even get to attend his high-school graduation some day.

Hooray for you and your whole and growing family.
My first grandson honors me with my name for his middle name as well. Total 4 with ages 7 to 22! Pure joy

aww congratulations!
My husband (and I) have the same thoughts that he might not live to see future grandchildren, every time we see a baby or a toddler, he gets choked up!
Our son is 23 and "desperate" for a wife, no girlfriend yet
Our daughter is 21 and doesn't want marriage nor kits (completely opposite thinking than us which is heart breaking)
and then we have a 13 and 10yo so.....

@peterj116 me 2 married girls 44 and 50. One husband testicular ca the other husband has a congenital disease in his family he didn’t want to take chances with.
